International Conference
on Science and God (ICSG)

Since the founding of our organization in 2017, HJIFEP has been sponsoring the conference series known as the International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences (ICUS). The focus of this series has been to present and discuss the latest scientific theories and technologies that can help resolve the challenges posed by environmental degradation. The solutions presented at these meetings are derived mainly from conventional science.

To broaden the search for the most promising solutions to environmental problems, HJIFEP opened the door to unconventional, “frontier science” approaches. Thus, in 2020, HJIFEP convened the First International Conference on Science and God (ICSG), in Seoul, Korea. The term “Science and God” in the name of this conference series is not intended to indicate a blending of science with a particular theology. Rather, it is based on recognizing a flow in the history of Western scientific thought, which is moving from a classical, materialist perspective to revolutionary ideas of a postmaterialist viewpoint.

As frontier science investigates the mysteries of consciousness and other phenomena, it may lead to a better understanding of unseen dimensions of the universe, possibly revealing fundamental approaches to resolve environmental challenges. When solutions derived from frontier science are combined with those derived from conventional science, the resultant “hybrid” solutions could conceivably be broader and more effective in overcoming critical threats to the natural environment.

The proceedings of these conferences are published and distributed worldwide to researchers, scholars, policy makers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and educators, thus raising global awareness of new scientific concepts and technologies and how they can be used to preserve and protect the Earth.

Once in a while, you hear religious people devalue science as having nothing to do with God, and secular people devalue religion as having no practical use. Both sides separate God and science. Both are in error. God wants us to develop science and technology as tools with which we can exercise the dominion of love over all things. And that is God’s great blessing. We must love nature with the same heart as God and cultivate it for the benefit of humanity.
